My new idea of children’s comfort packs for the women’s refuge seems to be well received. In each pack I include:

Red Cross

The Red Cross distributes knitted trauma teddies to hospitals and schools and ambulance and fire stations. Trauma teddies provide comfort to anyone suffering distress and also serve as a much needed distraction in times of trauma.
In 2012 we delivered 356 trauma teddies to the Red Cross shop in Bentleigh – an amazing effort. They are most grateful and sent us a card thanking you all. The teddies go to the ambulance service, fire brigade, hospitals, disaster centres as well as nursing homes for the comfort of elderly dementia patients.

Salvation Army

Tight Knit World provides practical assistance to people supported by the Salvation Army. TKW supports people being helped by the Salvation Army by providing gifts of Easter eggs in egg cups to low income families.

Schools around the world

Donated school supplies, sporting equipment and children’s clothing are sent by Tight Knit World to schools around the world including Cherith Junior School Tanzania and village schools in India, Bali, Sri Lanka, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and in other Pacific Islands.
